Phovia by vetoquinol

Treatment with photobiomodulation can help speed wound healing by up to 50% when compared to antibiotic and topical treatments alone.

Phovia is a non-invasive two-part system comprising a LED lamp and a chromophore gel. Used together, they produce multi-wavelength fluorescent light energy that can penetrate the skin to variable depths.  The gel is applied to the pet's skin and then illuminated with the lamp, resulting in the biological effects we observe as more rapid skin regeneration.  Witness dramatic before and after pictures below.

Phovia light therapy treatment is quick and easy, painless for your pet, and promotes healing to a variety of skin issues from surgical wounds to burns, dermatitis to fistulas.

HOW IT WORKS

The Phovia kit has 2 components: an LED lamp, which emits blue, low-energy light, and the Phovia Gel, a unique topical photoconverter activated by the lamp’s light. Although most light therapy systems are limited to a single wavelength—addressing, at most, 1 layer of the skin—the Phovia chromophore gel releases fluorescent light energy at multiple wavelengths, giving multiple beneficial cellular responses simultaneously, according to Vetoquinol.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your pet's skin will be cleaned.  The special Phovia chromophore gel is then spread onto the skin. Protective eye goggles will be worn by veterinary personnel.  The Phovia light will be activated and held close to the skin surface for 2 minutes.  At the end of the cycle, the skin will be cleansed of gel, and your pet will be ready to go home!
